The FAW can confirm that Osian Roberts will step down from his role as Technical Director of FAW Trust and Assistant Manager of the Welsh National Team to become Technical Director at the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.

Since his appointment as FAW Trust Technical Director in 2007, Roberts has become synonymous with the Welsh National Team’s ‘Welsh Way’ of coaching and playing over the past decade. Since 2010, he has played an integral role within the Wales coaching staff serving as Assistant Manager initially under Gary Speed and then from 2014 with Chris Coleman, reaching the semi-finals of UEFA Euro 2016. He was subsequently appointed Assistant Coach under Ryan Giggs in 2018.

The FAW would like to thank Osian for his commitment to Welsh football over the past 12 years and wish him well in his future endeavours.

Osian Roberts i sefyll lawr fel Cyfarwyddwr Technegol Ymddiriedolaeth CBDC

Gall CBDC gadarnhau y bydd Osian Roberts yn sefyll i lawr fel Cyfarwyddwr Technegol Ymddiriedolaeth CBDC a Rheolwr Cynorthwyol Tîm Cenedlaethol Cymru er mwyn derbyn swydd yn yr un rôl yng Nghymdeithas Bêl-droed Moroco.

Ers ei benodiad yn 2007, mae enw Roberts wedi bod yn gysylltiedig gyda “Ffordd Gymreig” y Tîm Cenedlaethol o hyfforddi a chwarae dros y degawd diwethaf. Ers 2010, mae wedi chwarae rhan allweddol o staff hyfforddi’r tîm cenedlaethol, yn gyntaf fel Rheolwr Cynorthwyol i Gary Speed, cyn ymuno â thîm Chris Coleman yn 2014 gan gyrraedd rownd gynderfynol Ewro 2016 UEFA. Yn 2018 cafodd ei benodi yn Hyfforddwr Cynorthwyol gan Ryan Giggs.

Hoffai CBDC ddiolch i Osian am ei ymrwymiad i bêl-droed Cymru dros y 12 mlynedd diwethaf a dymunwn yn dda iddo yn y dyfodol.
