Wales squad announced for forthcoming friendlies

Wales team manager, Chris Coleman, announced the squad for the friendlies against Northern Ireland and Ukraine today. The matches are scheduled to take place on 24th and 28th March respectively.

The squad is as follows:

Gareth Bale has been omitted from the list in a decision jointly taken between the FAW and Real Madrid. The midfielder is expecting the birth of his second child around the time of the scheduled friendlies.

Other notable absentees are Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey, who is struggling with a thigh strain and who remains a doubt for his team’s Premier League run-in and Leicester’s Andy King, who misses out through illness. James Collins has also been left out.

Wales face Northern Ireland at Cardiff City Stadium. Ticket details can be found here: Wales tickets
